5 Days All Inclusive Adventure deep in the Guna Yala comarca with an isolated indigenous hunter-gatherer community.
Embark on an unforgettable journey to the Guna Yala Comarca, where you’ll discover the unique heritage of Panama’s indigenous Guna (or Kuna) people, a community that has preserved a centuries-old hunter-gatherer lifestyle in the San Blas archipelago and beyond. Renowned for their vibrant traditions, intricate "mola" textiles, and symbiotic relationship with nature, the Guna have remained one of the most autonomous Indigenous groups in the Americas. Their rich heritage is rooted in both the lush coastal and jungle ecosystems that sustain them, and in a worldview that harmonizes cultural pride with environmental stewardship.
*Itinerary:*
*Day 1:* Pick up at 5am from your hotel. Arrive in San Blas and board a beautiful catamaran to begin a day of island-hopping, fishing and unwinding on pristine beaches. After a full day in paradise (Lunch included), you’ll enjoy dinner on board and spend the night beneath the stars on the catamaran.
*Day 2:* After breakfast on the catamaran, you’ll journey by fisherman’s boat to visit two remote Guna islands. From there, switch to a smaller boat to travel upstream into the jungle, immersing yourself in the verdant surroundings on a four-hour journey to an isolated Guna village. Upon arrival, settle in and take a guided walk to explore the village. You’ll have the chance to meet and greet locals, learn from village leaders, and enjoy a refreshing river bath. That night, you’ll sleep in hammocks in a local family’s home, an authentic experience of Guna hospitality.
*Day 3:* Spend the day exploring the jungle around the village with a Guna guide, learning traditional kayaking techniques on a “kayuko” boat, and visiting the village center. You’ll join locals in making fresh sugarcane juice and meet with the community shaman, who will introduce you to the local medicinal plants and healing practices passed down through generations.
*Day 4:* Pack your belongings and head back to San Blas islands on a 3 hour down stream ride. Return to the catamaran for a final night on the water, where you can relax after your jungle immersion.
*Day 5:* Depart for Panama City, carrying unforgettable memories of Guna Yala’s remote beauty and rich Indigenous culture.
